Blue Water Suite

Harbor View! Located in the Heart of Friday Harbor - Just steps away from the Ferry Landing and Port of Friday Harbor. This lovely island suite is the perfect place for a relaxing or romantic getaway! (Blue Water Suite)

As the name indicates, the Blue Water Suite is located just above the Blue Water Bar and Grill Restaurant. The location offers easy access to shopping, dining, and is centrally located to whale watching and kayaking departure destinations. The suite offers a direct view to the ferry terminal and the Friday Harbor Marina.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a Keurig style coffee maker, range, microwave, and refrigerator (but no dishwasher). The living room is furnished with a large flat screen television with satellite service as well as a sleeper-sofa. The bedroom offers a King size bed and has a separate flat screen television.

The bathroom is nicely tiled with a large soaking tub. The tub has an extending sprayer (in lieu of a showerhead) that clips into the wall. There is also a washer and dryer for those with an extended stay. This unit is perfect for those who want to come and explore the island and rest their head at night.

San Juan Island is a remote location and it is good to keep in mind that intermittent, short, Wi-Fi disruptions are very normal for this area.

  Great place for couple to stay right in town. Easy access. Loved the layout of the rental. We went in May so heat was not a concern but i could see it getting hot during the summer without an ac. Wife loved jacuzzi tub. Shower is a little awkward. Trolley was great. We would stay at this place again.

  We loved this beautiful Suite overlooking the harbor. It was so fun to watch the ferries coming and going. Couldn't beat the convenience to all shopping, restaurants and access to the waterfront. The two person bathtub was a treat after a cold day of cycling the island. A bit loud in the morning with the first ferry arrival, but that is to be expected. We live in the mountains and a harbor view was just what we were looking for! We'll be back!

We were biking around the islands so this was ideal in that we didn't need to go down until the ferry we were taking was unloading.   Incredible location says it all. Everything is walkable and made the vacation. The only complaint was we were there during the middle of the summer and studio does get very hot. Having a small portable AC put in the bedroom would have fixed this issue. Mind you, that will not keep me from rebooking the property.

  Our stay at the Blue Water Suite was very good! It is directly across from the ferry dock and only a block from the marina and several restaurants. The condo does not have air conditioning, but if you open the windows it stays very cool. There are a couple of things to consider if renting this place- when you have the windows open at night, there is a fair amount of noise from people and vehicles. Nothing terrible, just there. We bought our own coffee cups because the ones they supply were itsy bitsy! We now have souvenirs from Friday Harbors so that is a plus! The big one is the venting system from the restaurant downstairs. If you leave the windows shut, the place reeks of cooking grease. There may be no way to fix that except to leave the windows open, then it wasn’t too bad. The place was very clean and well taken care of. We would highly recommend this place. It is beautiful! San Juan Property Management is a breeze to work with!

  You can't get much closer to the action than Blue Water Suite. If you're looking for a quiet waterfront spot, this isn't it, but when you want to be close to some of the best shopping and restaurants in Friday Harbor, this is your spot. Nice for small families who want more privacy than a shared hotel room, and while we just stayed for a short weekend, the laundry and kitchen facilities are great for longer stays.

  We could not have been happier with this rental! We were nervous about the noise reviews since we were traveling with an infant and toddler but it was no issue at all! Even with a band playing outdoors just a few blocks away and sleeping with the windows open, we had no issues getting a restful nights sleep. We quite enjoyed being in the heart of it all! We loved watching the boats and planes come in and out of the harbor. We walked to the farmers market, ice cream shop, and the grocery store was just a short walk. The place was clean and functional.

  I was at this rental for just over a week while attending the Marine Naturalist Training Program put on by Friday Harbor's Whale Museum. The suite was better than I could have ever imagined. I did not bring a car, but that was no problem because I was right down town and there is a very reliable taxi system on the island if I ever needed to go somewhere a little further. No air conditioning, and I stayed on some of the hottest days of the year, but they provided two great working fans and all the windows opened easily. The nights were very cool and comfortable. The wifi was spotty, but it was better than none at all. I didn't even use it much because of all of the other things I was doing while there. Overall it was a great place to stay and I'd rent it again in a heartbeat.

  We enjoyed our stay at Blue Water Suite. It was unseasonably warm the weekend we were there so we had the windows open all weekend. We did have some fried food smell from the restaurant below but only noticed it one night.
  I do have a couple suggestions for things that we could have used. Hangers for clothes. Two larger coffee mugs. The tiny cups provided won't hold the cup of coffee the Keurig makes.
  Also, since we were charged a cleaning fee, I felt it should have included dishes.

  This is a very nice property located in a great location right in front of the ferry terminal. This also might be a drawback for some people because it is not quiet at times. All the ferry traffic passes right under the window and the ferry blows it horn early in the morning when it leaves. It is a great place to sit and watch the people come and go and all the activity on the water in the harbor though.
  
  We did have one issue when we first arrived but it was quickly taken care of by the property management. We would stay here again.

  My husband and I stayed in the blue water suite for 3 nights. It was great! The unit was huge and very nice. The location could not be beat, we were right next to tons of shops and restaurants. Also, the harbor is right outside the windows. We watched the ferries come and go and the seaplanes take off and land. It was amazing. My only possible compliant would be the smell from the restaurant below lingered in the unit, but that's to be somewhat expected when staying above a restaurant. Overall it was fantastic. We'd definitely stay here again.

  The Blue Water Suite was clean, "funky" and just what I had hoped for - my wife loved it. It was right in the heart of Friday Harbor, with the ferry and water filling the view, and all the hussle & bustle just outside your window (all ferry traffic passes right beneath your windows).
  If you want a quiet, secluded place you don't want the BWS, but if you want restaurants, bars, shops and people just steps outside your door, then you will love this place.

  It's a great lil place that's centrally located in the town. It's right next to the bus stop, the ferry terminal, the main boat dock (a plus for whale watchers), and a lot of a great restaurants. Just a couple of blocks away from the grocery store, a few bookstores, and the mo-ped rental place.
  I locked myself out of the apartment one night, and I called their help line and a very nice guy was there within ten minutes to let me back in.

  Lovely location where you feel a part of the quaint but bustling vacationer filled town, during the summer. Beautiful view and the Blue Water down stairs was just great. Love those guys and the food was great too. Upon entering the condo we were all smiles. It was just perfectly up to date and clean and well appointed. No old musty couches, or worn carpets. Only issue was the wifi. It just was not working well or something so we had to use our Hotspot from our phones but those were just fine. And we found we didn't have enough hot water to fill the tub all the way one evening. But Overall it was just the most amazing trip, relaxing, comfortable, great food, great bed, lovely views, and as much fun or quiet time as your heart desired. We will be renting this condo again in a month. We just loved it.

  We loved this place. The full kitchen and tile tub really make it feel like a home away from home, and it is conveniently located right downtown in Friday Harbor (with amazing views of the ferry dock and the sound). The only downside was that the washer didn't work. Not a big enough issue to keep us from coming back, though!

  My 86 year old father and I shared this lovely "attic" apartment for a short trip to Friday Harbor for whale watching. The location was perfect, just walk off the ferry and there you are. The view from the apt dining area looks out over the harbor, so great spot to watch the ferries come and go, really pretty at night. You are up above the hustle and bustle of "downtown", so feel like you are a part of the action but with a birds eye view. Across the street is the Cask and Schooner, where we had a great meal, and the other direction, the ice cream parlor. Other places to try but no time. My only "complaint" was the hide a bed was I suppose a typical hide a bed, a bit Spartan, perhaps not overly comfortable for a couple, but likely fine for kids or a single. The bedroom was huge with a large bed, the bathroom newly remodeled. The main room had two great couches, perfect for hanging out. We never did figure out how to make the TV work, but that was okay, since you can watch TV anywhere, but why go to such a wonderful place as Friday Harbor to do that? We had great response from the managers when I needed to switch our reservation by a day, and I was really grateful for that.
