Waterfront! Waters Edge is an open and spacious northwest traditional style home. Located just outside of Friday Harbor on the island's east side, this home has heated concrete floors on the main level which includes the Primary suite, and the loft bedroom is located upstairs and opens up to the ceiling of the kitchen.

The living area has a propane fireplace for a relaxing ambiance while you enjoy the wonderful views out to San Juan Channel, Yellow Island and watching the ferry go by. The kitchen is fully equipped and spacious. The butcher block counter tops, propane cook-top, and water-views will make preparing meals an enjoyable activity.

The main level, primary suite is furnished with a Queen size bed and includes a propane fireplace, deck access, water-views, and a bathroom with an over-sized tiled shower. The upper-level LOFT bedroom is also furnished with a Queen size bed and has an adjacent contemporary bathroom with tiled shower. The Loft bedroom is open to the kitchen, as shown in photos.

This is a very nice two-bedroom home. Nicely appointed kitchen and living room. The water views from most rooms and the deck are excellent. We watched Orcas swim by on our first night. The house is very clean and is well maintained. One suggestion would be to fix/improve the water pressure in the master shower. The water pressure from the faucets throughout the house and the upstairs bathroom are fine. Would stay here again.

Perfect place to unwind, appreciate nature -- even luck out with seeing orcas right out front (no lie!). We saw bald eagles, hummingbirds, deer, fish jumping out of the water, AND orcas swam right by us one late afternoon! Beautiful, clean place with lovely views. I didn't want to leave.

The house was clean and well equipped. The view was just amazing. We had a wonderful and relaxing time here. There are no blinds in the main bedroom, so bring your eye covers. The mattresses are also very soft and a bit uncomfortable.

Our stay at Waters Edge was great. The house was peaceful and well appointed. The view overlooking the water could not have been more beautiful and fascinating. We had deer come into the backyard and saw eagles, dolphins, and seals from the deck. Proximity to town was just right and you can easily access the rest of the island. Waters Edge is a place we hope to return to, as it is as memorable as it is serene.

We loved everything about our stay at Waters Edge! What a great house--the home is elegant, with simple and lovely well thought out features. The outstanding views and large windows augmented the interior, and the deck was fantastic, and flowed from inside to outside nicely. Such a great layout. I usually like staying on the west side of the island for the sunsets, but the sunrises here were beautiful and worth the wake. I loved looking out at Shaw and Orcas. Turtle Back Mountain on Orcas looms right there, and I could even see into the Marina at Deer Harbor (in the distance). Was great being so close to town, but really you're never too far from anywhere on the island. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Everything was great! Beautiful view, clean, new, incredible architecture and spacious. Please be mindful that the 2nd bedroom is a loft above the kitchen. My only complaint is that we were not allowed to use the master bedroom closet so we had to hang our clothes in the front hall closet. We had a great time!!!

This home is close enough to town, but set in the woods at the edge of the bay. The kitchen has everything needed plus more I wish I had in my kitchen at home. The bedding and towels are clean and laundry facilities are easy to use with supplies available. The view on the deck is relaxing with kayaks and boats going by, even an eagle swooped by one morning. It's in the woods, so be prepared for an occasional spider. Excellent communication with the property management company. I would love to stay in the property again.

Our group of 4 adults enjoyed 4 nights at this lovely home.The placement of the house, nestled in the trees along the shoreline is outstanding. High ceilings and many well placed windows make you feel like you can reach out and grab nature. The kitchen is fully outfitted beyond expectation. Definitely a cooks kitchen! We grilled/cooked in 2 nights and appreciated all of the conveniences, down to the spices in the spice drawer!
We discovered a beautiful hike in the neighborhood (UW Biological Preserve)..a treat!

Staying in this house was definitely one of the highlights of our stay on San Juan Island. Phenomenol views from almost every room and also from the deck. The architecture of the house was designed to take full advantage of the water and tall evergreen views and to provide natural light. The home was very well supplied with everything we needed in the kitchen. I would highly recommend this house for 2-4 people. Very close to Friday Harbor. Does require a car or other means of transportation. Has wifi but home phone wasn't working while we were there. Would recommend that people not miss the view when you come over the rise going to the point of American Camp. Breath taking.

The Waters Edge house is the best rental vacation experience we have ever had. The house is literally at the waters edge - with a beautiful view of the water and islands from inside the house (windows looking out from every room on the first floor) - and especially from the balcony. It is private - but only a 5-minute drive from the heart of the small town of Friday Harbor. One morning I saw a bald eagle fly by - incredible! The house itself is an architectural dream - open, light, comfortable. The furnishings, fixtures, appliances, etc. are all first rate. We ate in several nights - and everything is provided - not only cookware, but spices, oils, etc. We could not have been happier.

We were pleased with this rental and would be pleased to rent it again. This is a nice property, well located and well managed.
However, as former owners of a San Juan Island rental property and in the spirit of being helpful, we have a few suggestions for the owner's consideration:
1. The TV quality and ease of viewing are below what one would expect from a $400/day rental.
2. Black out shades in the MBR would be a nice option to manage early summer sunrises.
3. A knife sharpener, large-24 oz drinking glasses, and a Keurig would be appreciated additions to the kitchen.
4. There are inexpensive raccoon proof garbage cans that would allow garbage to be placed in garbage cans overnight.
5. A great addition would be to make one of the two beds a king size bed.

Our experience with San Juan Property Management was great from the very beginning. The reservation process was easy and efficiently completed by their friendly staff. The Waters Edge property was all that the pictures had shown it would be. The house was well stocked with lots of amenities and the view was peaceful and spectacular. It was in a great secluded area not far from Friday Harbor. We appreciated all of the local brochures that were provided for our viewing. We had great food at each restaurant that we went to and enjoyed a great fiddle performance at the City's performing arts center. All in all we had a great 4 days at this beautiful home.

This home met or exceeded our expectations in every way. Excellent location - just a few miles from Friday Harbor, and perfect location for exploring the rest of the island. The house is lovely - incredible water views and expansive deck. Water access via path (no beach but beautiful viewing area). Ideal spot for early morning coffee or sunsets. We even saw a humpback whale cruise by one morning only a few yards from shore! Surreal. The house is perfect for a couple - master suite is large and inviting. The second BR is a loft. While nicely appointed with its own bath, it is not entirely private - a side is open to the kitchen below. Not particularly private, but certainly OK. Overall, we loved the house and would highly recommend to others and look forward to returning ourselves. Rental company was wonderful to work with and very responsive.

Water's Edge was perfect, even before we arrived! A telephone message let us know that the house was ready early and that we could check in any time. 5 minutes from Friday Harbor we were in a different world. Peaceful, elegantly simple, far from the hustle bustle of Friday Harbor. Water's Edge isi aptly named, and we felt very connected to the natural world there. As we sipped morning coffee on the deck we watched bald eagles fly past us at eye level, as well as the ferries, sailboats, and fishing boats heading in and out. The house is absolutely delightful...stocked with everything you might need...the kitchen was amazing and the pantry had lots of items to help with cooking. The water side of the house is almost totally glass which makes you feel as though you are in a treehouse! I can't say enough positive things about our stay. San Juan Properties was great to work with and we would love to return to this beautiful place again someday!!!

Our experience at Water's Edge was perfect. The house had everything we needed for the four nights we were there. The kitchen is well equipped, the house is very clean and we had a very relaxing and memorable stay. The grill didn't operate as it should but didn't cause any big problems. The bedrooms accommodated the four of us perfectly although it would have been even better if the upstairs bedroom wasn't a loft - the noise from downstairs travels easily to that room. I would highly recommend this house - distance to Friday Harbor was good and the location was convenient to other areas of the San Juan Island. A fantastic home for our first stay in the San Juan islands and we hated to say goodbye.

Waters Edge is a quiet, beautiful, very well-equipped two bedroom home with a deck and water views. It is close to Friday Harbor, but nowhere near commercial activity. The house is tastefully decorated and is clearly a residence that is occasionally used by the owner. If there is any concern I might have, it is that a house of such design should have a king size bed rather than a queen size bed in the master bedroom, but really that is a very small matter. I would definitely rent this property again if coming to San Juan Island. Highly recommended.

Kitchen and pantry very well stocked, convenient and serviceable. The only negative was the floor. It was well swept, but quite dirty...got our white socks and/or our feet really dirty. Floor could use a good mopping. It definitely feels like you are home. Highly recommend!

The one thing I would like to mention is if the kitchen was a bit more streamlined (less cluttered with extra gadgets, vases, pots, baking sheets), visitors may feel more comfortable in the kitchen and less like they are digging thru someone's personal life to find a spatula.

This rental is so clean and gorgeous and there are windows absolutely everywhere so you feel like the outside is part of the inside. There are no window coverings, but we didn't have trouble sleeping and that adds to the drama of the views. There's no closet space in the master so we used the front coat closet. The loft bedroom has a closet. The kitchen and pantry are spacious and lovely and the deck is the perfect size and accessible from the master, living room, and kitchen area. There's a tiny trail leading to the water and a friendly deer walked right up to us while we were on it. There's even a cute bench carved from a tree so you can sit and read by the water. It feels very private.
The Wifi went out briefly and the San Juan Management team was incredibly helpful and quickly sent someone out to fix it. They also answered all of my questions regarding things like the ferry schedule and which activities to do.
We can't wait to come back!

The house and location are exquisite. We did not want for anything and cooked in every night. The staff at San Juan properties are a bit impersonal but not unprofessional. There seemed to be a lot more do's and don'ts than I'm used to in my 20 plus years of vacation rentalling. For instance putting all your towels in the washer before you leave seemed extreme with a $100 cleaning fee. But all in all a beautiful place and I would rent here again.

This home is incredible in every way. The location was outstanding, close to town but very rural and private. The kitchen is very well stocked - we enjoyed cooking/grilling dinner all 3 nights of our stay. The view of the stars from the deck was something we had not seen in a long time. From the deck, we saw seals, otters, deer, pileated woodpeckers, and even heard whales spouting in the evening! The only thing we wish this home had was a King size bed. But that would not keep us from staying here again!!

This house is truly amazing. We stayed there in August. The scenery is breathaking. The house itself is immaculate and fully stocked. The owners clearly have put care into the furnishings and art. It is also very private and conveniently located. I cannot say enough about how beautiful this place was.

The only caveat I would give is that it really isn't a good house if you have active, young children. The second bedroom is a loft and is not suitable for mobile toddlers because it is not only upstairs and fairly separate from the master, but also has a low wall that kids can climb over. We ended up giving our 3 year old the goregous master BR because we couldn't leave him in the loft BR.

What a treat! Words cannot do justice in describing this property. If you are looking for peace, quiet and natural beauty then this is your destination of choice. The rooms, kitchen and deck are all well appointed and beautifully kept. Conveniently located near town with easy access to the entire island - this is about as perfect as it gets. I could have easily spent our entire stay watching the sailboats, ferries, wildlife and stars from the deck.
