Waterfront! Beach Access! Near Town! Includes separate mother-in-law studio! Located close to the town of Friday Harbor and San Juan Golf and Country Club, this waterfront home offers spectacular Griffin Bay and Mt. Baker views. (Alba Vista)

The front door to Alba Vista opens on the middle level of the home. The living room, full kitchen, 1/2 bathroom, and dining room are all found on the main level. From each of these spaces you will enjoy amazing views including North Bay, Dinner Island, and Lopez Island. The full kitchen is stocked with lots of appliances and plenty of supplies for preparing meals. The living room offers plenty of seating for the whole group, as well as a Smart TV, DVD player, DVDs, and a variety of puzzles, board games, and books. The dining room is found to the right of the living room, with seating for 8 around the table. Guests will find access to the deck with the propane BBQ from the dining room, with plenty of outdoor chairs to enjoy a perfect summer night overlooking the bay. The deck is perfectly situated between the main house and the detached guest house.

On the top floor you'll find the spacious primary suite furnished with a king size bed. The primary bath offers a soaking tub also taking advantage of the wonderful water view. Also is equipped with dual sinks and a spacious tiled shower.

The lower level of the home opens to a full bathroom, fully equipped laundry room, an additional bedroom with 2 twin beds, and a studio-style space equipped with a cozy couch, a propane fireplace, and a Queen size bed. From the downstairs studio space, you'll find exterior access to the pebble beach.

Included in this rental is the charming, detached guest studio furnished with a queen-sized bed, coffee maker, microwave and Smart TV. Enjoy the water views from the sitting area with propane fireplace. The studio also includes a full bathroom.

10 minutes in any direction will take you to many of San Juan Island's beautiful beaches and parks including Jackson Beach, South Beach and American Camp or Mount Finlayson.

This house has good cell phone reception.

A/C is provided in the main house. There is NOT A/C in the detached guest studio.

Approximately a 10-minute drive to the Friday Harbor Ferry Terminal.

Not pet-friendly.

The internet / Wi-Fi at this house should be sufficient for streaming video, phone calls, remote work and video conferencing.

  The views from this home are stunning. We had everything we needed. Towels, cooking utensils. The kitchen needs more dish cleaning cloths besides one lonely sponge. Plenty of closet space and hangars. The master suite upstairs is lovely. Great big tub, walk-in showers, huge closet comfortable king size bed. I love that the bathroom had a lighted makeup mirror. You can walk down to the water when the tide allowed. Lots of birds to watch. Cute guest cottage, (the drain in the shower is slow, needs clearing) Bottom line, I highly recommend this house.

There is a path going down to the beach which is pretty well kept. At a couple of places the path was a little narrow for carrying our inflatable kayak but doable. The "mother-in-law" suite was my favorite part, providing some privacy without sacrificing any comfort. The view from the Master is unparalleled - looking directly out on the water. The bathroom vanity downstairs needs to be repaired, but otherwise the house was in great shape! The only other disclaimer I have is that the downstairs room with the queen bed doesn't have a door (indicated by the phrase "studio style" in the listing) but is separated from the living room by stairs - just something to take into consideration if you're booking for multiple families who want privacy in each bedroom. The location was perfect!

This house was ideally positioned to take full advantage of our time....close to downtown and easy access to scenic spots around the island. The house had plenty of space...and a guest we certainly didn’t get in each other’s way. The kitchen had pretty much everything we needed, although I’d recommend some barstools for the counter. Smoke, COVID, and fog made things challenging, but this house provided us with a great refuge...helping us make the best of a bad situation. I would stay here again.

Very little traffic on street. Easy to do morning walks from house and pick wild blackberries.

  This is a terrific vacation house. Three couples shared it, one stayed in the guest house. The big bedroom downstairs is without a door. Not a problem for us, but might be for some. All in all, a good choice for a fair price.

  We stayed at Alba Vista for a week over the fourth of July. The home and guest house were perfect for our group. It was a multigenerational trip, so my in laws were able to have their own space in the guest house, and my husband, 3 kids and I were in the main house. This worked out perfectly. We loved the patio that overlooked the water and spent time on it each day- watching the sunrise with some coffee was a treat! Our elementary age children LOVED that we could go down to the beach and explore. In our week there, we saw jellyfish, crab, a harbor seal, a starfish, eagles, and plenty of other birds- all from the Alba Vista property. We saw plenty of other amazing wildlife as we explored the San Juan Islands. The home was very clean and pretty, and was equipped with anything we might have needed. All and all we had an amazing trip and Alba Vista was wonderful!

  Alba Vista is a *beautiful* home in a tranquil, relaxing area not far from Friday Harbor, with a great view of the ocean. There's access to a small pebble beach that's practically private. The home was well appointed, very nicely decorated, and clean everywhere. It had practically everything we needed/looked for. We particularly liked that one bedroom is basically its own little cottage, even with its own coffee maker, microwave, and TV.
  
  The only time we had to call the office was when we locked ourselves out of the separate unit, but one person from the management team came out fairly quickly to let us in, even though it was past 10:30PM on a Saturday night. That's superb service.
  
  Just a few minor nitpicks:
  *The queen-bed room downstairs has no door (so you might hear the laundry machines running across the hall) and no shade over a door to the outside (not a huge deal, as there's basically no one around, and you can hardly see the neighboring house, if at all).
  *There was a minor vinegar-like smell in the air at the beginning. One or two others in our party might have noticed, but it didn't bother anyone and it went away in a day or so.
  
  All in all, we couldn't have expected more. The place anchored our fantastic time together on the island.

  This was an extremely nice, clean and well appointed home to vacation in. We had six people, but it easily fits eight. There are three levels and a separate guest house, so everyone had more than enough space to spread out. The main level, living room, dining room kitchen is open and very comfortable to congregate together. Linens, and towels were provided and enough. The kitchen cookware was good and the stocked pantry with spices, sugar, tea, and much more, made us feel very welcome. I have rented other homes before and had to bring my own salt and pepper, but all of these things were there. We replaced what we used up and I think that is the way others may have done it also. There were also a lot of books to read and games to play. The view of the bay from the living room window was just spectacular and we did spend some time exploring the beach. I would stay there again. Close to town, far enough away from noise.

  This home is very spacious. It sits on Griffin bay with beautiful views. There was space for each family to have their own space. The outdoor deck was comfortable to sit on in the late afternoon. We like to cook and planned to have most meals at the house. The old pots and pans made that quite a challenge. The bed in the cottage sagged in the middle. And the downstairs door to the outside did not have a curtain for privacy. But despite these items we really enjoyed the home and property.

  We spent Christmas here on a whim and it was magical. The dining room & living area look directly upon the water. The view is spectacular. On Christmas morning we watched an Eagle catch a fish and eat out on the beach, all from our living room! The mother-in-law unit was nice, but quite cold. One of the downstairs bedrooms had very little privacy (no door between bedroom & interior hallway & no covering for the exterior French door). Excellent master bath. Beautiful, maintained property. We would stay here again.

  Loved this place! Wonderful stay in a beautiful town with fantastic accommodation. Ample room for all of us, beautiful views from almost every room. We really felt at home and pictures do not do this property justice. An ideal and serene location just a few minutes drive from town and local attractions. Loved the little guest house too, so cute!

  It's great experience for the whole process. The property management company just handle every steps smoothly. The house cleaned professionally like a hotel. It offers 1 master suite at top level, 1 bedroom and recreation room in lower level, and 1 cottage with it's own bath and fireplace. Every room has great views. When I found 2 little minor defects when move in and email the property manager, they called early morning to follow up.

  Overall the stay was excellent. The place handles up to eight comfortably. The master bedroom suite was very nice, and the water views with Mt. Baker in the distance were great. The lower level bedroom with the queen bed needs window shades, and the bedrooms lack good reading lamps.

  The home was perfect for our family. We had 6 adults and 2 toddlers and there was privacy for everyone but a large enough family room and kitchen to all be together. The kitchen was very well equipped. There were toys for the children and puzzles and games for the adults. There are beautiful views from every room. It's very quiet, almost secluded, but just a short ride to Friday Harbor. The only problem we had was when the smoke alarms went off in the middle of the day for no reason. I called the property manager and they were there within 15 minutes and replaced all the smoke detectors. Very professional and nice.

  Alba Vista was a great house and location. Better than expected and the website photos suggested. Right on the water with great views. Guest cottage was also very nice with a great view. Well appointed. We had two couples and two college age daughters and all were very comfortable.
  
  The property manager was very responsive to a couple of questions we had during our stay.
  
  One issue that did not bother us, but could be an issue for a larger group was the lack of privacy for the third bedroom in the main house. It appears to be a converted game room and has no door or window coverings. The sun rises VERY early in the summer and the room is bright. If you like to sleep a little later and need a dark room, this will be a problem. Since that was not an issue for our group, we'd recommend it for groups of 6 or less and we'd stay there again.

  8 of us (4 adults, 4 kids) stayed there over a weekend. The house is clean and has everything you need and a great view of Mt. Baker and the water. It's location is good, but a car or bicycle is necessary to get to town. The only issue we had is with the coffee maker: after it has brewed about half the amount of water you put in, it sputters and steams endlessly with no additional coffee brewed. The solution is to add about 4 more cups of water than you really need.

  Dining room pretty useless due to poor lighting, no cooktop ventilation so fire alarm went off three times while preparing dinner!!!! Ouch!!!! Hard to get down to "beach", windows were difficult to close once opened. All that said, it was still a really nice, private, spacious, pretty house. We had a great time.

  All amenities and location were great. Everything was fine as far as cleanliness, view, interior, etc. The floor plan left something to be desired. It wasn't condusive to open, easy family gatherings around the dinner table or to the deck. The photos indicated this so we weren't necessariy disappointed we just wouldn't choose the property again. For others, the formal dining room and lack of informal eating area, or the deck a little out of the way, maybe wouldn't be a problem.
