Three-bedroom waterfront! Close to town. Newly listed. Channel House is a waterfront vacation rental home offering sweeping view of a dozen islands across San Juan Channel. A path right to the water. Views to Orcas Island, Jones, Yellow, McConnell, Shaw and other surrounding islands. Floor-to-ceiling windows invite the exquisite beauty of nature into your living room, kitchen, and dining areas - the waterfront is so near that it feels like part of the living room!

The natural environment surrounding this home provides frequent sightings of deer, eagles, porpoises, Harbor seals, sea lions, and, on occasion, Orca, Humpback, Gray and Minke Whales. This home is an ideal setting for those who enjoy reading, fishing, cooking, hiking, and just relaxing to the sound of the sea.

Hikers will enjoy discovering the Old Growth Forest Reserve just three blocks away. You can blissfully escape from the world at Channel House, but if you decide to tune in, there is 55" smart screen for the internet, movie channels, and Blu-ray DVD that can be used with 3D or regular video discs.

Gourmet cooking and entertaining are encouraged in this vacation home's well-equipped kitchen, which offers a bread machine, ice maker, service for 12, serving dishes, a dishwasher, a high-tech induction stovetop, two ovens, and cookbooks and various spices grow in containers for your use.

The dining room opens to the largest deck which includes a gas BBQ, casual Adirondack chair seating and separate seating for 8 around the umbrella table. A second deck is accessed via the living room, which is furnished with wall-to-wall carpeting, leather seating, flat screen Smart TV (no regular TV reception).

Bedroom #1: Queen sized bed with a private deck facing the water offers a seating area and a bathroom with a walk-in shower. (Loft-style bedroom with a half-wall overlooking the living room.)
Bedroom #2: Queen sized bed with a smaller deck, reading area and radio.
Bedroom #3: Two twin beds and a concealed washer and dryer.

Enjoy sitting outside by the fire pit or on the waterside bench. There is a gentle path with a few steps that take you right to the water’s edge, with some steep drops and deep water, so parents are cautioned to be with young children at all times. If you have concerns about specific water or steep drop-off conditions, please talk with our office before you complete your booking.

There is a ping pong table located in the detached garage and a horseshoe pit for guests to enjoy.

The house does not allow pets or smoking in the house or on the property. The Fire Marshal prohibits outdoor fires at some point in the summer but the contained firepit is OK except for extreme dry conditions.

Channel House is located at the end of a private road, just 2.5 miles from the ferry landing and the Town of Friday Harbor.

This home has a concrete, steep driveway with a dirt/gravel winding pathway to the front door. Large vans or automobiles may have to back down the driveway because of the sharp turns required.

Internet is available on the property via a wireless LTE service that provides approximately 35 Mbps internet speed. This is enough for movies, video calls and regular internet service. However, if there are multiple devices operating at once, or severe weather is affecting signal transmission, there is much faster and 100% reliable service in town. Guests who wish to use videoconferencing, streaming services, or multiple simultaneous internet connections should be aware that performance may not meet the levels they are accustomed to. In general, the home provides all the internet capacity that is needed for mail, streaming and videoconferencing.

Please note: residential internet speeds, bandwidth, and reliability in the San Juan Islands currently need to catch up with the mainland. Guests may need to alter their online work and entertainment plans due to possible service fluctuations or outages.
