Evergreen Waterfront Retreat

Waterfront! Hot Tub!
This north facing, waterfront home just minutes from town, is a retreat for a small family or a few friends to come and relax on San Juan Island. (EWR) **There is a staircase that is used to access the house.

Located on the main floor is the gourmet kitchen with an open concept to the living room and incredible view of San Juan Channel.
Enjoy a movie on the Smart TV (Roku's equipped for each TV with your personal login) or sit and watch the boats cruise past the waterfront. A small collection of board games is provided in the living room for the family to enjoy. The kitchen is fully stocked with all your cooking needs (spices are not always guaranteed) which includes an in-island cooktop stove and sub-zero refrigerator. Seating at the bar and at the convertible armoire/table are the options to enjoy your meal.

There is a large, spacious deck off the living room to enjoy your morning coffee or an evening cocktail.

Upstairs you will find the primary bedroom with a King bed, en suite bathroom with double sink and heated floors, and private outdoor deck. The extra room off the upstairs bedroom has a hide-a-bed couch and pack n' play for the smaller child.

Downstairs boasts a Queen bed, 3/4 bathroom and access to the outdoor 6-person hot tub.

Enjoy a meal on the picnic table while watching the boats drift by. This is a great space to relax and unwind on San Juan Island.

** Parents please be aware that this home has low-bank waterfront exposure and although the owners welcome families, the home may not be suitable for all children.
**Outdoor fires are not permitted at this property any time of year.

  We really enjoyed our stay at Evergreen Waterfront Retreat. Not too far from Friday Harbor and the view was incredible. The house was clean and very comfortable. The master bedroom was lovely, but missing a closet anywhere upstairs for hanging clothes. The bed mattress is needing a "flip" or replacement since there are dips which make it not as comfortable as I'm guessing it was in the beginning. Awoke with a bit of a sore back in the mornings, but not terrible.

  We spent most of our time enjoying the deck to this beautiful property. Loved the wildlife show (bald eagles, kingfishers, jellyfish and tiny fishes were regulars) and seeing the gorgeous sunsets. We stayed in the master bedroom upstairs which was spacious and comfortable. The downstairs bedroom was a little less fancy, but our friends said the bathroom was lovely. Given how much cooking we ended up doing, I do wish that the knives were a little sharper, if only for safety reasons, and that there was a rubber spatula. If I were staying there again, I would probably bring some of those items from home.
  
  However, overall a great location and a beautiful home. I feel I should add that there was information about an emergency water shortage left on the property’s front door and garage. Given that we and our guests were from drought plagued areas, we understood the seriousness of the request. Just a reminder that even on vacation, you can’t escape the realities of the environment.

  This was my husband and my first visit to the island, this place was perfect! The location felt secluded but getting into town was quick. We spent our mornings hiking and our afternoons in the hot tub soaking our sore legs! As we were preparing to depart, we stepped into the balcony one last time in hopes of seeing wildlife. Up popped two sea lions to wish us farewell (we think!). When we return, because we will certainly be back, we plan to stay here again. Also, the property manager’s instructions for getting there were great, and be sure to follow them as we did not have a cell signal on our drive in.

  This was our fourth visit to the San Juan Islands and our first to San Juan. The house was fabulous - spotless and comfortable, right on the water where we (two couples) spent hours on the deck watching whales, seals, bald eagles and other wildlife go by. We had a little problem with the stovetop fan; called the maintenance number and someone (a very competent and professional guy) knocked on our door within minutes!   Easy to find, great location! This rental was well furnished with quality appliances, linens, etc. The view was amazing. Unfortunately we did not see any whales, but we did see bald eagles, foxes, harbor seals, and geese with their little goslings!
  The wi-if connection and the cellular service worked very well for us. We had 4 adults and it was very comfortable, plenty of space. There is a long staircase leading down to the entrance so if you don’t do steps well, this may be an issue. The staircase was very sturdy and not steep so it was an easy climb even with luggage.
  We highly recommend this beautiful home, we had a wonderful stay!

  Absolutely stunning water views from all main parts of the home. Well stocked kitchen, beds comfortable. Hot tub worked well and was a good size. If you have seniors or people who struggle with stairs, that could be problematic as you have to walk down a steep set of stairs to enter the house. Kitchen seating is all on stools without backs but for my family of four this worked well as we don’t have seniors/folks w mobility concerns. Would recommend for a small family or two couples. A third couple wouldn’t have a private bedroom.

  This completely renovated home has high end features both inside and out starting with the steel stair case from the parking area to the home. The view from all living areas and decks could not be better, with the sound of water lapping at the rocky shore. The interior is warm and inviting.
