Blue Sea Bungalow

Blue Sea Bungalow (near Roche Harbor) is a great place to make some San Juan memories! This cozy home was built in 2015 and is comfortably furnished with a nautical/beach motif throughout.

The kitchen and dining room provide enough space for everyone to gather comfortably around the table or prepare meals together. The kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances and plenty of dishes, cookware, and spices.

The downstairs Primary Suite has a Queen-sized bed and is connected to a continental bathroom. The 2nd bedroom is upstairs with a view of Westcott Bay and a full-sized bed with a Memory Foam mattress. The 3/4 bathroom is upstairs as well.

The living room's comfortable futon couch converts into a bed. Enjoy an evening movie on the new 40" TV in the living room with access to Netflix and other streaming services.

Blue Sea Bungalow offers a large yard full of fun as well! Fire up the BBQ, pull up a chair and relax around the firepit (seasonally permitted and firewood is not provided). Enjoy a game of horseshoes, “corn hole”, or croquet in the back yard. This open space and rural setting are perfect for star gazing while sitting with friends around the campfire.

The Westcott Bay Oyster Farm is just at the end of the neighborhood. A connector trail to English Camp and Mount Young is also at the end of the street near the farm and lagoon. There is a nice trail on Bell Point (in the National Park) that can lead you to public water access.

It's a short 1.5 miles to Roche Harbor, where you can rent kayaks, SUP's, etc. and check out the beautiful garden and historical sights.

This home is not suitable for parties or excessively loud groups. Due to the large lawn and proximity to the water, sound carries easily through this neighborhood.

This property does not have Air Conditioning. Fans are provided.

Fire pits are not usable from May 1st-September 30th due to county burn ban and safety of property and neighboring areas. Ban is usually lifted October 1st if/when conditions and weather are favorable.

Approximately a 15-minute drive to the Friday Harbor ferry terminal.

The internet / Wi-fi at this house should be sufficient for streaming video, phone calls, remote work and video conferencing.

San Juan Island is a remote location, and it is good to keep in mind that intermittent, short, Wi-Fi disruptions are very normal for this area.

  We traveled to Roche Harbor for a wedding, and this was the perfect house to stay in. It was close to the resort but far enough away to feel private and quiet.   Stayed during the winter freeze that followed Christmas 2021. Despite temperatures in the teens, the house stayed warm. Used the woodfire stove, but mostly just for aesthetics--electric heat was more than adequate. Property manager very accommodating. Reviews we read before were very accurate--this is a very good vacation rental.

  I don't know if you could ask for much more. The management team made the administrative side of the trip quite easy - seamless in fact - including reworking a delayed trip due to COVID last year.
  
  My daughter and I stayed in the Blue Bungalow and thought it had plenty of space, it was remarkably clean, and the location was great for us. Westscott Bay across the street, very close to the West side of the island which made trips to the coast, parks, tide pools, really quick and easy. Downtown is a quick 15 minutes away and the road in is gorgeous. Well, to be fair, all the roads are gorgeous drives. The kitchen is well stocked and we never once said anything like, "I wish there was a ..... " Deer visited the yard every morning and one day I was having coffee on the front porch and a doe just munched her way through the front yard in front of me. Bald eagles soared overhead another morning, calling back and forth to each other. I'd stay at the Blue Bungalow again in a heartbeat.
  
  We really enjoyed eating at Downriggers, who my daughter says has the best french fries she's ever had), Friday Crab House, and the Rocky Bay Cafe. Coffee at the Salty Fox is top notch. We really enjoyed meeting local artists and farmers at the Saturday farmer's market. We did 3 whale watching tours, one sea kayaking trip, all with the discounts provided by the management company. They were all fantastic and we saw many whales and other wildlife on our excursions.

  I needed a place to stay here for a couple weeks for work and this was a great option. It’s about a 20-minute drive from Friday Harbor and the ferry terminal.
  
  Blue Sea Bungalow was exceptionally clean and a well-maintained home full of amenities. Laundry and dish washer detergent were provided, beds were comfortable, linens were great. The internet was fast, and my Netflix and Amazon Prime worked great on the TV.
  
  Note that the nearby water access described is small and limited if that’s important to you. Firewood for the pit or indoor fireplace was not provided but for sale at the grocery stores on the island.
  
  It was a quiet neighborhood, there was a large parking area, the neighbors were friendly, and deer wandered through the yard almost every day. I would stay here again.

  We recently stayed at the Blue Sea Bungalow with our 5 year old son. The location is very quiet which is ideal for our family. The house is very clean with nice furnishings. The outdoor space is great and we made use of the games in the shed and ate outdoors. We had daily sunset visitors including a fox and deer. While the beach close to the house is tough to get walk to and not so nice, you can walk to the Wescott Bay Shellfish company which was great and everything else is a short distance away.

  Gathering our family away from others was a slice of Heaven. My husband, turning 80, and our youngest son,35, joined us at the Blue Sea Bungalow for four perfect nights. Our new grandson and his parents stayed at the condos in Roche. They came for BQ dinners, games, wildlife, fire pit with smores. Freddy FOX was a bonus, along with Momma Deer, Darling and her twin spotted little ones, Daisy & Donny were a treat to have around. Freshest clams and oysters at the end of the road were delicious. A great place to sit and enjoy the view. Reservations needed. We'll be back another time.
