Enjoy this brand new, quiet and comfortable waterfront studio with exquisite marine views throughout. It features a queen bed, 3/4 bath, light cooking space, dining room table, sofa, Smart TV and electric fireplace.

The kitchen is ideal for cooking simple meals only, as it does not have very many supplies.

Bask in the sunshine from the private patio or take a walk down the concrete stairs to the private beach and relax by the waters edge. This is the perfect beach to enjoy a good book or wade in the water's splash. Whales frequent the cove as do seals, porpoise, sea lions and bald eagles.

Guests are welcome to use the ping pong table in the garage for those few rainy days on the island.

Just a few miles from Lime Kiln State Park or Pelindaba Lavender Farm, you will find this rental to be the perfect place to spend a romantic weekend or relax and unwind from a busy lifestyle.

The internet / Wi-fi at this house should be sufficient for streaming video, phone calls, remote work and video conferencing.

  We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It was a great location near Lime Kiln Park. We loved the privacy and little beach we could walk to. The washer/dryer units in the property and adjoining garage were broken during our stay but that wasn’t a big deal. I loved the kitchen, we had everything we needed to make dinner and breakfast in. The one negative is that we got bitten by some sort of bug while there. We didn’t see evidence of any kind of infestation but it only happened while there.

Tucked into a hillside that looks out to the gorgeous waters, the home is beautiful inside and out! Being on the second story above it’s own garage had the advantage of feeling like we were in a treehouse as we viewed the expanse of forest and water. The studio is a large, well designed place with a Zen feeling.

  This property is better than described. The owner obviously takes pride in this home. With modern, thoughtful design and decor, this property is top notch. Spotlessly clean. Comfortable bedding and seating. Abundant with luxury amenities: high-end appliances, plush towels, quality bath products, Crate & Barrel kitchen items, etc. And the view! A private, quiet and romantic spot, up high among the trees. We felt like we were in a tree-house. We saw the most speculator sunsets from the deck. And from the private beach, we saw orcas, otters, and even a bald eagle. We had a blast climbing on the rocks. Whale Cove sits in a great location on the west coast of SJI, a 15-20 minute drive to everything. Recommend deck seating at Madronna Grill in Roche Harbor to watch the boats. (Salmon BLT and bloody mary!!) We rented a boat from Noah at Friday Harbor Boat Rentals to scoot around the islands. Fantastic experience and spectacular vistas! Hiked around American Camp, climbed Young Hill, ate lavender ice cream, laughed at the alpacas. Whale Cove played a large part in helping us achieve our dream PacNW experience. Shout out to San Juan Property Mgmt. Excellent communication throughout the process...from first point of contact to check out. Thanks! We'll be back!

  The residence at Whale Cove was a wonderful experience. Only ten minutes from Friday Harbor and on the sunset side of the island. The home is an architectural gem, private, and only steps from the cove. Wildlife is abundant in the area, and proximity to parks is a plus.   Wow. What a lovely place to stay on the island. The cottage is beautiful, fully equipped and the most serene and peaceful place we've ever stayed. The drive is only about 15 minutes from Friday Harbor and is located on the West side of the island. The sunsets are beautiful and we never knew we had soooooo many stars in the sky at night. We will definitely go back to Whale Cove in the future. The owner's built a magical place and we highly recommend this location for your stay on San Juan Island.

  Stayed here for my honeymoon and as we drove down the gravel driveway and saw the place we just started laughing as it is so ridiculously amazing. The pictures really don't do the place justice as it is simply a postcard spot. The interior was immaculate and had all the amenities one could want for any length of stay. On top of that everything was comfortable, from the bed to the chairs to the couch and so on, clearly a lot of thought went into furnishing the place and it shows. The walk down to the beach is easy and we actually saw a small pod of Orcas swim by while sitting on the little bench one day, that was awesome. The location is perfect in terms of being right in the middle of the island to close to parks, as well as Friday harbor - but far enough away that you could go days without seeing another person. If I had one suggestion - and only one - it would be for some curtains or shades on the huge windows facing the ocean because the sun comes up so early it's hard to sleep in late. We stayed up late every night because the sun sets so late and the stars are incredible from the deck. Other than that minor point it's perfect.

  This property was absolutely beautiful! As you can see from the photos, it's very open with a modern feel. But what you can't see from the pictures is the way the sounds of the water echo through the place - the way the breeze runs through the unit - and how the sun hits the reddish trees and floods the rental with light. It truly made for the best getaway weekend I've ever had. The home is in a great, quiet area, but not too far from Friday Harbor or Roche Harbor. In addition, the management company was great to work with. They were very accommodating during the booking and check in process. Everything about the unit was in such great condition, I didn't speak with them again until I checked out. This weekend stay gets a 10/10 in my book - I WILL be back here again someday ❤️
