Cannery Inn - Hyak is one of 4 rooms for rent in the Cannery Inn building. The Hyak room offers a water-view and is ideal for guests seeking outdoor activities, shopping, dining and everything else the island has to offer. Also perfect for the boater who wants to regain their land legs, as the stairs down to the Port of Friday Harbor are only a few yards away.

This unit is equipped with a water boiler and instant coffee, microwave, mini fridge, full bath, queen bed, Wi-Fi and flat screen TV. Guests are also welcome to relax and take in the magnificent views from the common deck area. There is a smaller deck area attached to the unit if you are seeking more privacy. For groups larger than 2, please contact San Juan Property Management about booking additional units.

Downtown Friday Harbor is one short block away from the Cannery Inn. Guests can take a short stroll down the hill to visit some of Friday Harbor's best coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques, galleries, and parks.

  Our view of Friday Harbour was amazing from our room. The inn was convenient for walking to nearby restaurants and stores. Parking was easy. The room was very nice. My only issue was to provide more coffee packs for our 3 night stay. A quaint room with simplicity and beauty.

  The location and views from the shared deck can't be beat and the management team is very helpful. Due to a date conflict on my end, we were moved from the Chelan to the Hyak. Management was very flexible about the change. One detraction of the Hyak room is that the cherry tree right in front of the deck is now tall enough to obscure the view- it should be pruned down to prevent this obstruction from getting worse. Also, there is another tree behind that one that has dead branches that further obscure the view of the harbor. Those should be cut away for the view and the health of the tree. Walls are terminally thin- I wish that they could be better insulated, as you can hear your neighbor's conversations, TV, alarms, etc. But having stayed here before and knowing what we're in for, we still can't beat the views and location, and will come back, hopefully to some trimmed trees.

  Cute! Lovely entry way, perfect location, easy to walk from the marina and town. Comes with a fridge and some tea/ instant coffee. I brought my own “coffee” filled tea bags that I travel with occasionally. My favorite part was the balcony overlooking the marina and the communal patio with marina view as well. I don’t think another place has such a great view for coffee in the morning!

  My husband and I enjoyed our stay very much. Based on other reviews mentioning paper thin walls (which I can confirm) I was nervous how it would turn out - we had no problems, but we also had no neighbors across the wall, we could hear our neighbors across the hallway, but they were being very polite and quiet. I appreciate that the management acknowledges the issue (the room comes with a box of ear plugs). The only other issue is that there is no ventilation aside from the patio doors, and there are no door screens. Now the pluses. The view is amazing, we enjoyed watching the ferries and water planes. There is a ?madrona tree right in front with lots of singing birds. Room is very clean, comfortably furnished and smartly decorated. Location super convenient. No parking issues. Overall we had a great time and would stay again.

  The Hyak room at the Cannery Inn was the perfect place for our mother/daughter getaway. Cute, quaint, and close proximity to harbor, shops, and restaurants. Other than driving around the island to sightsee, we walked everywhere. The veranda was a touch to enjoy a morning cup of coffee overlooking the harbor. We plan on visiting again and bringing my entire family - when we do...I will book all four rooms:). Thanks to Cannery Inn for making our visit to the San Juans fun and enjoyable!

  We really enjoyed our stay in the Hyak room. The view was amazing! The room was very clean and had everything we needed. The location was awesome as we could walk every where. The only thing I would change would be the instant coffee...would rather have real coffee in the morning. They also do not restock the room, which was fine with us. I'm sure if we needed clean towels etc...we could have called. Very nice location, very nice room, very happy customer!!!

  Location, location, location! Right off the strip, easy, free, nearby parking (practically right out the front door). Would highly recommend the Hyak room to friends, it has a BEAUTIFUL view, and if you're from eastern standard time, wake up for a beautiful sunrise right outside your window at around 545am PST.

  Lovely room with a fabulous deck overlooking the harbor. Just a five minute walk from the center of town. Property Mgmt company helped us out by holding our luggage before our rental period started and after it ended. My only regret is that there was no a coffee maker in the room.

  I enjoyed my stay. They room was clean and had everything we needed. The view was great. I enjoyed coffee on the deck while watching planes land in the harbor. Very relaxing!! The only request I would make for the future is to add door sweeps at the bottom of the exterior doors. It might help with internal noise. All in all a great place to stay.

  Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay - really this is a gem and you can stop looking for options. The view is amazing and much better than any hotel nearby even. The location is perfect relative to town and the Marina and take literally 5 mins to get to either one on foot. The place is clean and newly renovated with nice finishings, with the only negative thing being very thin walls and therefore a lot of noise transference between units but earplugs are provided free of charge. Customer service from the property managers was great and we were able to check in early at no charge even though there was turnover that day. Highly recommended.

  We were so lucky to find this spot given that we made plans at the last minute. It was a wonderful location and had everything we needed to have breakfast and lunch and eat dinner out at some of Friiday Harbor's restaurants. The frig, water heater and microwave was perfect, the room was big and comfortable living indoor and out on the patio. Very quiet for being in town. And they called when it was ready and let us lock our bikes on the shared deck.

  This is an amazing inn to rent for any couple. Everything was brand new and clean. We stayed over the Fourth of July and it was perfect to watch the fireworks on Friday Harbor from the balcony.
